What is Composites Technology?
Composite technicians fabricate lightweight, structurally strong parts and assemble for a variety of applications. Job functions include use of epoxy resins, fiberglass, carbon and Kevlar fabrics, structural adhesives, and coatings.
What are the benefits to being trained as a composites engineering technician?
Utah has one of the highest concentrations of advanced composite companies in the world and the composites industry in our state will continue to grow. At present, approximately 123 Utah companies are active in the industry accounting for at least 10,000 jobs. According to the Utah Economic Development Corporation, 6,600 new jobs will be available in the industry by 2015.
One of the major concerns facing this industry in Utah and elsewhere is the shortage of talented technicians necessary to supply the industry. Corporate Solutions is addressing this concern through its certified Short Term Intensive Training programs and two-year degree programs in Composites Training.
Currently, there are three levels to this Certificate program:
- Introduction to Composites Level 1
- Advanced Composites Level 2
- Advanced Composites Level 3
At the conclusion of each couse level, the student is awarded with a Certificate of Completion.
What careers are available in the Composites Industry?
