Thinking about starting a business? Need the tools, support, and financial resources to turn your business idea into reality? The Salt Lake Banking on Women™ program can help you plan, launch, and grow your own business!
How it works Banking on Women is a comprehensive program that provides women entrepreneurs with the training, mentoring , and microloans to build their businesses.
Starting your own business is never easy. This program is designed to give you the right combination of support you will need to succeed. If admitted into the Banking on Women program, you will:
• Participate in the Women’s Business Institute’s “First Step FastTrac” program; • Engage in mentoring opportunities with GE Capital volunteers; • Access microenterprise loans through the Utah Microenterprise Loan Fund; and • Attend special events with program participants and partners.
Who should apply Banking on Women™ is designed for women who are not able to access traditional sources of funding for their businesses. Female entrepreneurs looking to start or grow their microenterprise are encouraged to apply. A microenterprise business is a small business with five or fewer employees that requires less than $35,000 to start, and is too small to qualify for commercial banking services.
